FAQ

What is InGaming

InGaming is a new way to think about sports gaming. InGaming puts YOU in any game as the Head Coach. Pick your roster before the game and change any or all of your players after each period, quarter or half.

Is InGamer Fantasy Sports?

Fantasy sports is definitely the closest thing out there, but InGaming is played in real-time, while Fantasy is not. In Fantasy you're a passive watcher, a GM if you will. InGamer allows you to be an active player.

How does it work?

Since professional sports leagues now have very detailed real-time stats feeds, it is now possible to have a more direct and immediate sports gaming experience. And, due to the development and proliferation of mobile phones, the platforms exist to enable people to manage games squads in real-time.

You no longer have to sit on the sidelines when the games begin. InGamer allows you to get right IN to the action.

How do I Challenge my friends?

These are called Rivalries.

You have to be Logged In in order to have Rivalries.

When you are viewing a person's profile you can click "Start Rivalry".

From then on you will be ranked against them in any game both of you are playing.

Also you will be able to see what they are saying wherever they are in the site. (which can be shut off)

Plus, you will be notified when they join a game (which can also be shut off)

Can I start a Rivalry with anyone on the site?

Yes.

But, rivalries are a one-way thing. Just because you are comparing yourself against them doesn't mean they know how you are doing.

How do I get someone to Challenge me back?

Befriend them.

Trash Talk them.

Don't get reported for abuse.

How do I report someone for abuse?

Go to their profile page and click the 'report abuse' button.

People should be PG, as we do have people of all ages playing.

Items that should be reported right away:

  • Content that is hateful or discriminatory.
  • Direct solicitation.
  • Requests for passwords (or any other identifying information).

How do I turn off Challenge notifications?

You need to be Logged In

Then you need to turn them off in the notifications section.

Does it work on all phones?

It works on (most) web-enabled phones.

See the How to play on Phone section

Go to our website on your phone and you will be presented with an optimized interface.

So, if your phone is reasonably good at web browsing, you can InGame on it.

If you are not satisfied with the experience see if Opera Mini will work on your phone. We optimize for it and the WebKit phones (iPhone, Nokia, Droid, PalmPre, others)

Note that although we do our best to keep the usage low, this will incur data charges based on your phone carrier and particular package.

Can I InGame on my computer?

See the How to Play section.

Can I play on multiple platforms during one game?

Yes you can.

For example you could set up your squad online, and then play on your phone while you're at the game.

How do I sign up?

How much does this cost?

Playing a game is always free.

At some point there will be a nominal charge which will allow you to:

  • Play multiple games.
  • To manage your own Club.
  • Full statistical information.
  • Additional strategic content.
  • Full leaderboard standings and comparisons.
  • SuperLeague play.

What is a Club?

Wait and see!

Is their any prize money or contests?

Yes!

Our sponsors provide prizing, check the "Prizes" link at the top of the page in sponsored areas.

What's the InGamer SuperLeague?

Competitions based on participating in multiple sports at once.

More details as they are released.

Can a player be picked by more then one InGamer?

Yes.

What happens if two people have the same picks?

This is actually very uncommon. And there are tie breakers to resolve this.

The reason it is uncommon is because although two InGamers may have the same squad for the first quarter, they may not have the same captain.

And then, with each quarter the chances of retaining the exact same players goes down.

When can I change a player?

You can change a player at almost any time through "Select Players"

The change will take effect for the NEXT Quarter/Period.

Games (generally) close for changes as they enter their last regulation quarter.

NHL Playoff games will allow you to keep queuing changes for the next overtime, if it happens.

More details in the How To Play area.

If I Change a player do I lose their points?

No.

All points scored by any of your players while they are on your roster are yours (for better or for worse).

Once your changes take effect at the beginning of a Quarter/Period the player you dropped will no longer effect your points.

If I change for another player, do I receive the points that player scored earlier in the game?

No.

The only points that count for your squad are those scored by active players during any given quarter/period of play (even if you queue a change for an upcoming quarter/period).

How many athletes can I change?

You can change any or all of your roster during any major break in play.

Except your captain -- they are on your squad for the entire game.
